Thanks for your kind words. Things are naturally in chaos here. None of us was really prepared for this, although I guess if we had been thinking harder, we would have more ready.
Irene and I are inconsolable, of course. We have known her since she was two days old. Penny is the glue that is holding us all together. Mick is incoherent with sorrow and rage at the unfairness of it.
The Medical Examiner will release her body Monday, and Kristan, the family funeral directors will bring her home. She will be cremated. She was already an organ donor, I think. The service is Saturday next, April 5th, 2008. Short service, interment family only next to Mother; luncheon. In other words, it sucks that my baby sister is dead and we are proceeding with the social trappings that give us closure when someone dies.
Actually, a Druid High Priest will conduct the Transition Ceremony in middle Indiana, not here with us. Sylvia would have wanted it that way. Her beliefs were very private and personal to her.
According to some beliefs, Sylvia will return more highly evolved next time. She was such a wonderful artist and sculptor, she could make something beautiful out of anything she touched. She may come back as a dazzling orchid, a Butterfly, or a Dragon Fly or Hummingbird with shimmering wings. I am certain she will come back to us as someone beautiful of heart and spirit, because she leaves us that way. She tried so hard to get better, and for whatever the reasons, it was not to be. We will miss her so much.
